FACTS TO KNOW
CIBER-Safe provides background employment
reports that are in full compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
The FCRA, enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), is designed to
promote accuracy and ensure the privacy of the information used in consumer
reports. Employers that use the information provided by CIBER-Safe
are also governed by the FCRA.
Prior to performing any background check for employment
purposes, you must notify the individual in writing that a consumer report may
be used and obtain written authorization before ordering the background report.
For your convenience, you may download a
disclosure and authorization letter from our site; or, use one of your
own.
If, as a result of the information contained in the consumer
report, you expect to take "adverse action," (deny a job application, reassign
or terminate an employee or deny a promotion) you must pre-advise the
individual of your intent. Should you take that action, you must also notify
the consumer of "adverse action" and comply as stipulated in the FCRA.

FCRA, please refer to our
